Chennai: AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami have called for a key meeting of party’s senior office-bearers today.
According to sources, various issues including the party’s future course of action will be discussed.
The meeting has come at a time when raids were being conducted by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption at places linked to party leader and former Minister M R Vijayabaskar.
Also, the AIADMK is facing a challenge in the form of V K Sasikala, the party’s expelled general secretary, who is aiming a political comeback.
A couple of days ago, there was a mild flutter at Apollo hospital in the city as Palaniswami and Sasikala came at the same time to enquire about the health condition of the party’s presidium chairman Madhusudhanan.
Since both the leaders came to the hospital at the same time, there were speculations that they might exchange pleasantries. However, Palaniswami, who was accompanied by senior leaders, left the hospital.
