Kumbakonam: The District Crime Branch police have booked the siblings M R Ganesh and M R Swaminathan, of Deekshithar Thottam in Srinagar Colony in Kumbakonam for cheating the public and a manhunt has been launched.
Ganesh and Swaminathan owned a helicopter, and were running a private finance company and an aviation company besides a dairy farm at Korkai village. It is said their finance company ran a deposit scheme promising attractive returns.
In their complaint to Superintendent of Police Deshmukh Shekar Sanjay recently, couple Jabarullah and Fairosbhanu said the company failed to repay Rs 15 crore to them. Meanwhile, posters alleging that the finance company had cheated investors to the tune of Rs 600 crore appeared all over Kumbakonam town.
