Mumbai: Tanveer Hashmi, an accused in the pornography case involving actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, has said, ‘We made short films with nudity, not porn’.
“I was called by the Crime Branch for questioning about Raj Kundra and if I ever met him. I told them I have never met Raj Kundra in my life,” he said.
However, Tanveer said that he made content for the platform but was not working for Kundra’s company directly.
Asked about the kind of content he made for them, he said, “We used to make short films of 20-25 minutes, which had nudity, but if you look at it logically they cannot be called porn but we can say it was soft porn.”
Out on bail, Hashmi spoke to the media after being summoned by the Crime Branch. Actor Gehana Vasisth, and two other persons were also summoned in the case for questioning, but failed to appear.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty has denied her involvement in Kundra’s company, claiming she was not aware of the exact content of the controversial HotShots app in question, which was used for distribution of adult content.
She also mentioned that erotica is different from porn, for which her husband has been accused of, and that he is not involved in producing porn content.
