New Delhi: With 44,230 fresh infections, India’s Coronavirus caseload rose to 3,15,72,344 today.
According to Union Health Ministry data updated this morning, the country’s Covid-19 death toll climbed to 4,23,217 with 555 more fatalities.
The number of active cases has gone up to 4,05,155 and 18,16,277 tests to detect the infection were carried out on Thursday, taking the total number of such tests conducted so far in the country to 46,46,50,723.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has gone up to 3,07,43,972 and the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far has reached 45.60 crore.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on 7 August last year, 30-lakh mark on 23 August, 40-lakh mark on 5 September and 50-lakh mark on 16 September. It went past 60 lakh on 28 September last year, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and the one-crore mark on 19 December. The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore Covid-19 cases on 4 May this year and the three-crore mark on 23 June.
