CBI, IB don’t respond to Judges’ complaints: CJI

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India N V Ramana today said a new trend has developed in the country to malign the Judges, if people do not get orders of their choice, and there is no freedom given to Judges. He added when Judges complain to the CBI and IB, they are also not helping.

He made the observations as the Supreme Court was looking into the death of Additional District and Sessions Judge Uttam Anand in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad last week.

“If an adverse order is passed then judiciary is maligned,” Ramana said. “If judges file a complaint to police or CBI they do not respond. Intelligence Bureau and CBI is not helping judiciary at all.”

“Investigating agencies do not help at all and I am making this statement with some sense of responsibility,” Chief Justice Ramana added.

District judge Uttam Anand, 49, was killed on 28 July when an auto rammed him while he was on his morning run.
