Chennai: Even as the police have arrested M R Ganesh and M R Swaminathan, known as the ‘helicopter brothers’, for allegedly having cheated the people of Kumbakonam of Rs 600 crore, more have alleged that they were cheated by the siblings.

Following this, the police have requested all those who were cheated by the duo to come forward and lodge complaints.

The Thanjavur district crime branch had filed an FIR against the two brothers and two others under sections 406, 420 and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code for cheating, breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.

The brothers of Sri Nagar colony in Kumbakonam, who were into the dairy business, also owned a helicopter with which they ran an aviation company. This led to them being referred to as the ‘helicopter brothers’.

The brothers, through their ‘Victory’ finance firm, collected deposits promising attractive returns but allegedly failed to honour the assurance. Following this, a couple from Kumbakonam filed a complaint alleging the siblings had cheated them of their Rs 15-crore deposit.
