Chennai: The AIADMK today issued legal notice to Pa Ranjith, director of the film ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’, seeking to remove ‘objectionable portions’ from the movie.
Sources said that in the notice, the AIADMK has accused Ranjith of spreading false information about the party and its founder and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran.
It sought Ranjith to seek an unconditional apology and remove objectionable scenes from the film.
Failing which, the party have said it would initiate criminal proceedings against him.
The movie that spoke of boxing culture in North Chennai in the 1970s featured Aarya, Pasupathy, Sundar, Kalaiyarasan along others in the cast. It was released last month on OTT.
