K Annamalai

Chennai: Hours after BJP State secretary KT Raghavan resigned from the party following sleazy sting operation, party State Unit chief K Annamalai ordered a probe into the charges and promised action if charges are proved.

In a statement posted in his twitter handle, he said the party has formed a probe committee headed by State secretary Malarkodi.

“We are taking this allegations very seriously and an enquiry commission headed by Malarkodi will be formed and this team will study the truth behind the allegations and will initiate appropriate action against thsoe persons who are proven as accused,” he said.

The ‘sting operation’ purportedly showing Raghavan in a sleazy video call with a woman party member, was recorded and uploaded on YouTube by party member and YouTuber Madhan Ravichandran today morning.

The authenticity of the YouTube video that was released by Madhan Ravichandran leading to the resignation of Raghavan, will be verified and a probe will be conducted for further necessary action, he said.

K T Raghavan

Annamalai said ‘when he spoke with Raghavan on this issue, he told me tthat he is serving this party for more than 30 years with integrity and the allegations is made against him with the use of high-end technologies in the intention of defaming his stature and that of the party and said he will face this issue legally.

Further he said that in the intention of preserving the sanctity of the party and his role, he will resign from his party designation. “I accepted the resignation of Raghavan,” the BJP chief said.

He further said that since Madhan Ravichandran claims in his video that video records of more such people will be released in the social media, this makes me to question to intention behind his activities and this act of him is purely unacceptable.

Stating that women office-bearers in BJP, which is built on very strong traditions and culture, are treated with utmost care, respect and love, Annamalai said there are treated with dignity and they play an active role in taking the party and its ideology to every single person.
