Chennai: With the Kodanadu murder and heist case grabbing the attention of Tamilnadu once again, all eyes are on the district sessions court in Udhagamandalam which would hear the case on 2 September.
Last week, District judge-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udhagamandalam, C Sanjai Baba, posted the next hearing in the case for 2 September.
Earlier, heated arguments were exchanged in the district sessions court in Udhagamandalam as defence lawyers representing the accused in the Kodanadu questioned the locus standi of lawyers appearing before the court representing a prosecution witness who had moved the Madras High Court a few days ago seeking a stay on further investigations in the case.
The Madras High Court on Friday refused to issue a stay order on further investigations into a case relating to murder and burglary in Kodanad, the sprawling 800-acre summer estate frequented by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
Prosecution witness, N Ravi, had sought a stay, day-to-day hearing and early conclusion of trial in the Nilgiris sessions court.
