Chennai: A police complaint was lodged with the DGP seeking ban on the film ‘Rudhrathandavam’ by Minorities Welfare Party.
It alleged in the complaint that the movie speaks ill of the Christian community. The trailer released by the film’s director MohanG has dialogues that demean Christians, it alleged.
The party sought a ban on the movie since it aims at creating communal violence. The petitioner also sought action against the filmmaker.
The movie stars Richard, Radharavi, Gautham Vasudev Menon among others in key roles. Plans are on to release the film in October.
