Coimbatore: An associate professor of a Coimbatore college has been placed under suspension for sending messages with sexual connotations to a final-year graduate girl student.
The students of the college have shared screenshots of the lewd comments made by the professor to the student. The professor was part of the Tamil Department.
The matter was taken up with the college administration after the girl complained she was mentally disturbed. She sought stringent action against the professor, the police said.
The students alongside the alumni staged a demonstration in front of the institution demanding that the professor should be dismissed .
The college administration has announced that it will constitute a team based on the directions of the Vishaka Committee and take action based on their report.
