Chennai: Tamilnadu reported 1,329 fresh Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the State health bulletin said on Sunday.
With this, the total cases of this virus rose to 26,78,265 including 16,130 active cases. The death toll touched 35,783 in the State with 15 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
In Chennai 171 fresh cases were diagnosed taking the district’s tally of active cases to 1,846. In Coimbatore another 132 persons tested positive and 1,634 persons are currently undergoing treatment either at home or in healthcare facilities there.
For the second consecutive day, not a single person in Chennai succumbed to Covid-19. Besides Chennai, another 29 districts in Tamilnadu including Coimbatore reported no Covid-19 deaths on Sunday.
Till date the State has tested 4,75,50,125 persons through RT-PCR. The total recoveries are at 26,26,352 including 1,436 people getting discharged from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
