Dune directed by Dennis Villeneuve is a engaging entertainer. It is rich in both content and technical brilliance.
The movie stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard and Javier Bardem.
Seemingly inspired by 1965 sci-fi novel Dune by Frank Herbert, the movie manages a good watch thanks to brilliant execution by Dennis Villeneuve.
Set in the far future, it follows Paul Atreides, as he and his family, the noble House Atreides, are thrust into a war for the dangerous desert planet Arrakis, between the native Fremen people and the enemy invaders, and former rulers of Arrakis, the House Harkonnen.
The highlight of the movie is good performance by TimothĂ©e Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the ducal heir of House Atreides. Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Paul’s Bene Gesserit mother and partner to Duke Leto fits the bill well. And Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Paul’s father and the Duke of House Atreides bestowed with the stewardship of Arrakis is brilliant. Cinematography by Grieg Fraser, music by Hans Zimmer and crisp editing by Joe Walker make it watchable.
