Chennai: Tamilnadu has reported 1,090 new Covid-19 cases, 1,326 recoveries and 15 deaths. According to the State health department, the total count of cases in the state stands at 26,97,418 including 12,540 active cases.
Chennai recorded the highest number of cases at 141, followed by 128 in Coimbatore. All the other districts reported less than 100 cases.
After 1,20,376 people were tested for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the overall test positivity rate (TPR) was at 0.9 per cent.
After 1,326 persons were discharged, the total number of active cases stood at 12,540. The number of deaths registered was 15, and the number of samples tested was 1,20,376.
At 2,754 sessions, 1,45,969 persons were vaccinated. Among them were 40 healthcare workers; 369 frontline workers; 87,679 persons aged 18-44; 42,534 aged 45-59; and 15,347 senior citizens. So far, 5,43,79,414 persons have been inoculated.
