Chennai: Fresh Covid-19 cases have dropped below 900 in Tamilnadu, with three districts — Mayiladuthurai, Perambalur and Ramanathapuram — logging no fresh case. Across the State, 875 people tested positive and 13 died of the infection.
With 1,05,495 people being tested for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the test positivity rate (TPR) in Tamilnadu remains 0.8 per cent. Tirupur recorded the highest TPR with 1.4 per cent, while Chennai recorded it at 0.6 per cent.
Recoveries eclipsed new infections with 1,012 people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, aggregating to 26,60,419 leaving 10,745 active cases.
Thirteen people succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 36,204 till date, a health department bulletin said.
Chennai and Coimbatore continued to record cases in three digits — the former saw 106 and the latter 102. While Chengalpattu recorded 80 cases, Erode and Tiruppur logged 68 and 62 infections respectively.
