Chennai: Tamilnadu Health Minister M Subramanian and Secretary J Radhakrishnan held discussions with the Central dengue control team in Chennai on Monday.

A team of senior officials from the Union government reviewed the dengue preparedness measures in Tamilnadu. They would inspect Rajiv Gandhi Government GH and GH in Tiruvallur today.

As many as 493 persons have been affected by dengue in Tamilnadu, Subramanian said on Monday.

‘All over Tamilnadu, 493 persons have been affected by dengue. Last October, 30,000 (dengue-related) tests were conducted while it was 1.21 lakh this October,’ he said.

Talking about the visit of the central team, Subramanian said the members had come to ‘create an understanding’ to State officials on the action needed to be taken against dengue.
