Salem: A Sub-Inspector, two Special Sub-Inspectors and a Head Constable have been suspended by the Salem Police Commissioner Najmul Hoda for allegedly accepting bribes from a spa centre owner to allow flesh trade.
According to police, Tejmandal, 26, a native of Bangladesh, who ran a massage centre at Asthampatti was found murdered last month.
Three women working in her massage parlour had gone back to their home State. The four police personnel had failed to initiate action despite knowing that Tejmandal was into prostitution.
Based on a report, the Commissioner issued the order on Tuesday evening and served the copies to them on the same night.
