Chennai: Tamilnadu reported 750 fresh Covid-19 cases, 843 recoveries, and 13 deaths on Monday. Active cases in the State are at 8,616, while death toll has risen to 36,388.
Recoveries of 843 outnumbered new infections, a government bulletin said, adding the total number of persons cured of the virus so far touched 26,76,017.
Coimbatore witnessed the highest single day fresh infections of 125, followed by Chennai at 110.
Perambalur, Ranipet and Thirupathur recorded nil new cases, while many of the 38 districts saw emergence of single-digit fresh infections.
The Stateās overall test positivity rate continued to stand at 0.8 per cent. A total of 1,01,397 samples were tested, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 5,34,59,623.
