Chennai: Tamilnadu has posted 605 new Covid-19 positive cases and six deaths due to the infection, thus taking the total number of cases reported till date to 27,40,411 and the toll of fatalities to 36,686.
Even as Chennai logged 126 new cases and no Covid-19 deaths, the number of persons who tested positive for the infection stayed below 100 for the second day in a row in Coimbatore.
With 697 Covid-19 positive patients getting discharged after treatment today, the total recoveries so far has increased to 26,96,553. The number of active cases, including those on isolation, as on today remain at 7,172, a bulletin said.
Chennai did not report any deaths due to Covid-19 for the second day in a row. Apart from Chennai, there were no fatalities in a total of 32 districts.
The State capital accounted for 5,60,459 positive cases while the active cases remain at 1,335. A total of 1,01,237 samples were tested, taking the total number of samples tested till now to 5,63,16,308.
