Chennai: In tune with State BJP president K Annamalai’s keenness on strengthening the party at the grassroots to increase its prospects in the 2026 Assembly elections, many district units of the BJP in Tamilnadu are likely to be overhauled in a few months.
According to sources, Annamalai has been given a free hand by the high command and he would make some key changes in the party framework. Also, some popular leaders from other parties and people from other walks of life are also to join the BJP, it is said.
Meanwhile, Annamalai said the Tamilnadu unit of the BJP will oppose Hindi imposition in the New Education Policy if the Central Government has any such plan.
‘No language should be imposed on any State and if there was imposition of Hindi in the NEP, the State BJP itself would oppose it,’ he said.
