
Chennai: The last rites of popular Tamil film playback singer and actor Manika Vinayagam, who passed away in Chennai Sunday evening following a cardiac arrest, were set to take place later today. He was 73.
He is the youngest son of the famous Bharatanatyam teacher Vazhuvoor B Ramiah Pillai.
He has sung more than 800 songs in various languages including Tamil. He has also acted in character roles in several films.
Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin visited his residence this morning and paid homage to the departed soul. He also offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
