Congress leader from Kerala held at Coimbatore airport with revolver

Coimbatore: A Congress functionary from Kerala was detained at the Coimbatore international airport for possessing a revolver and seven rounds of live ammunition, on Tuesday.

Sources said KSBA Thangal, the Congress functionary from Kerala and former Chairman of Pattambi municipality in Palakkad district, was about to board a flight to Bengaluru when the revolver and live bullets were found during scanning of his baggage.

The CISF personnel held preliminary inquiries with Thangal after which he was handed over to the Coimbatore city police for further investigation.
