TN MPs in Delhi to meet Amit Shah over NEET

Chennai: A delegation of MPs from Tamilnadu is in New Delhi, to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and urge him to exempt the State from NEET. Sources said the Union Minister will meet the MPs today.

The development comes in the wake of the political parties in the State condemning the Union Minister for not meeting the MPs from Tamilnadu on multiple occasions.

After making little headway in their fight against NEET, political parties of Tamilnadu, at an all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister M K Stalin recently, decided to reach out to other States to build a consensus in opposing the medical entrance exam at the national level.

The meeting also resolved to intensify the legal fight against the test and decided to meet Amit Shah if the all-party delegation, which has given a representation to the Centre, gets a call.

The delegation from Tamilnadu includes MPs from the DMK, AIADMK, Congress, CPI(M), MDMK and VCK.
