Chennai: After a series of setbacks as a group of legislators quit the party and joined the SP, the BJP today delivered a major blow to the Samajwadi Party ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022.
Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav, married to Akhilesh Yadav’s brother, joined the BJP today, in a setback to the Samajwadi Party just weeks before the Uttar Pradesh election. ‘I have always been inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,’ Aparna Yadav said, wearing a BJP scarf.
Akhilesh Yadav is not even successful in his family, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said as he welcomed ‘Mulayam Singh Ji’s choti bahu’ into the BJP fold.
He said Aparna Yadav decided to join the BJP after many days of discussion. ‘During Akhilesh Yadav’s rule in Uttar Pradesh, western UP was under Azam Khan. There was no safety,’ Swatantra Dev, UP BJP chief who was also present at the event, said.
