Chennai: In view of the Covid-19 surge, the Tamilnadu Higher Education department has decided to revert to online mode of exams for engineering, arts and science and polytechnic students for December 2021 semester.
Speaking to the media, Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy said, ‘In view of the Covid-19 situation, we have changed our decision to conduct offline exams for college students. To avoid any delay in graduating for final year students, the state universities will conduct semester exams in online mode from 1 to 20 February.’
He said this after a meeting with Vice-Chancellors, students organisations and teacher associations. He also said that a decision on the reopening of colleges across the State will be taken after 20 February. ‘The government will take a decision regarding opening colleges after 20 February,’ Ponmudy said.
