Chennai: AIADMK joint coordinator and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami has claimed that the Assembly election in Tamilnadu would be held along with the Lok Sabha polls in 2024 under the ‘One Nation, One Election’ idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Canvassing for the AIADMK candidates contesting for the Madurai Corporation ward elections, Palaniswami said it is the Congress and DMK alliance that introduced NEET in 2010 and DMK’s Gandhi Selvan was the Minister for State in the Union Health Ministry at the time.
‘The DMK regime has got only 27 amavasais to go,’ he claimed and added: ‘The State will see Amma’s rule again.’
The former CM alleged that the ruling DMK is trying to capture the local bodies through short-cuts by threatening a few opposition candidates through police.
He also criticised DMK for its statement that 70 per cent of its poll promises were fulfilled.
