Sasikala, TTV to be back in AIADMK?

Chennai: The AIADMK’s Theni district functionaries have urged party coordinator O Panneerselvam to take steps to reunite the party by bringing back estranged leader V K Sasikala and her nephew T T V Dhinakaran.
In what could be intolerable to Edappadi K Palaniswami, they have sought to accept ‘Chinnamma’ back into the party.
At an unscheduled meeting at Panneerselvam’s Kailasapuram residence, the functionaries, who attended the meeting, held to discuss the AIADMK’s poor performance in the recently concluded local body elections, said it was an effort ‘to set the ball rolling to bring Sasikala and Dhinakaran back into the party’. OPS is believed to have promised the functionaries that he would consider their demand.
Syed Khan, Theni district secretary, stated that the AIADMK, which is a very big party, has never seen such a defeat. He said that the loss was only due to internal issues.
In the resolution, the cadre said, ‘The split in the party is the reason for successive electoral defeats of the party. The re-union of party leaders would certainly help the party.’
On 5 March, Sasikala is expected to make a visit to Tiruchendur, Tirunelveli, Srivilliputtur and Madurai, an AMMK functionary said, and she was planning to visit temples.
