Chennai: Veterans India Cricket Foundation (VCI) has announced the inaugural all India over 50s inter-zonal veterans cricket tournament in Chennai from 8 March .
According to a press release, six teams representing the five zones and international Indian will compete for the title in the 40 overs per innings tournament over 7 days at Waheguru, Amir Mahal, and VB Nest grounds.
‘The tournament has generated a lot of interest with over 100 players taking part, including the number of ex-first class players. All matches will be live-streamed on the internet. The number of national and international over 50s tournaments is growing every year and it is the fastest-growing segment in cricket in the world second only to women’s cricket,’ it added.
