Chennai: DMK president and Chief Minister M K Stalin has made it clear that he will not meet the party rebels who contested and won against the official candidates of the DMK and its allies in the recently-held urban civic polls.
The party continued to crack the whip against rebel candidates and their supporters after Stalin expressed his disappointment over the developments during the indirect polls to top posts in corporations, municipal and town panchayats.
Stalin’s decision was conveyed to the elected representatives when they came to Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters, to meet Stalin. It was announced through loudspeakers that those who won as rebel candidates cannot meet the party leader.
