Chennai: With his party facing major defeat in the five States Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today tweeted they will accept people’s verdict and learn from this.
‘Humbly accept the people’s verdict. Best wishes to those who have won the mandate. My gratitude to all Congress workers and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. We will learn from this and keep working for the interests of the people of India,’ he tweeted.
Congress today scored an unambiguous 0/5 in the State elections from Uttar Pradesh to Goa, and lost one of the few States it held in Punjab.
The Congress has also been knocked out in Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa – all States ruled by the BJP and where the party is set to return.
