New Delhi: India today reported 2,568 new Covid cases and 97 deaths. With this rise, the death toll in the country has reached 5,15,974.
The total active Covid cases have further declined to 33,917.
The active cases comprise 0.08 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate further improved to 98.72 per cent, the Health Ministry said.
While the daily positivity rate stood at below 1 per cent (0.37), the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.46 per cent.
A total of 4,722 patients have recovered since yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,24,46,171.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 77,97,54,156 samples have been tested up to 14 March for Covid-19. Of these 7,01,773 samples were tested on Monday.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,24,46,171 and the case fatality rate was recorded as 1.20 per cent.
