Chennai: In an attempt to woo potential investors in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is embarking on his first international trip starting today, when he will visit the Indian Pavilion during the last week of Dubai Expo.
According to a release from the State government, Stalin will inaugurate the Tamilnadu stall on Friday and TN Week will be observed at the Dubai expo for one week from 25 to 31 March.
Stalin will also meet Ministers and industrialists in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to attract investments for the State. Stalin will also meet the non-resident Tamils during his visit. The TN stall will feature various highlights of the State such as industries, tourism, apparels, Tamil development, industrial parks, IT developments and so on.
This will be his first overseas visit after taking over as Chief Minister.Stalin will leave after the conclusion of the debate on the State Budget in the Assembly.
According to officials, the visit is timed in such a way as to provide the State with visibility not only in the UAE but across the Middle East. It is learnt that the State is expecting the visit of several Ministers and officials not only from UAE but also from other countries.
There are over 190 countries including India participating in the Dubai expo which will end on 31 March.
The State government has set aside Rs 5 crore for participation and exhibition in the Dubai expo, reports said. After his visit to Dubai, Stalin will reach Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE, where he will be meeting high-level officials and there could even be some signing of investment agreements. The CM is also likely to meet the diaspora in UAE, sources added.
Stalin in this visit will be aiming to bring many new global investors to Tamilnadu.
