Enjoyed working in Tanakkaran., says Vikram Prabhu


It was a big challenge to do Tanakkaran. It demanded huge physical effort. The end product is satisfying, says actor Vikram Prabhu.

Disney+ Hotstar will premiere Taanakkaran that stars Vikram Prabhu and Anjali Nair in lead roles and has been directed by Tamizh. Besides the lead, the project also has Lal, MS Bhaskar, and Anbarasan in significant roles.

The film narrates the difficulties faced by young police trainees. Vikram Prabhu will be seen as a short-tempered trainee who frequently questions the ruthless methods of his senior officers. Before this, the actor has donned the khaki in his previous films Sigaram Thodu and Thuppaakki Munai.

The music for the movie is by Ghibran. Tamizh is making his directorial debut with Taanakkaran. He has previously worked as an actor in films like Bachelor and Jai Bhim. Tamizh played the bad cop in Suriya starrer Jai Bhim.

The movie is produced by SR Prakash Babu, SR Prabhu, P Gobinath and Thanga Prabaharan R. Philomin Raj and Madhesh Manickam are editor and cinematographer respectively.

Asked about the movie, Vikram Prabhu says, ‘It is the story of police trainees and difficulties they face. When the director narrated the story to me, I could not believe that it is based on real-life incidents. Then when he said that he had served in police department, I started believing him. The whole team gave their best. Personally it is a good film for me and all my pains while shooting vanished when I saw the output’.

On his part, Tamizh said, ‘There is no casteism or political conflict in the movie. Ego war between two individuals individuals in a police training academy makes up the movie.
