Chennai: Tamilnadu Governor R N Ravi has said the paradigm of developing India has fundamentally changed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s all inclusive development.
Participating in 22nd Convocation of Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUCAS) here, the Governor said the earlier model of development had created huge regional and sub-regional imbalances and social tensions.
He said how in a progressive State like Tamilnadu there are development, differentials and sub-regional imbalances.
He called the earlier model of development Darwinian as some relatively smarter people cornered the benefits leaving the rest behind.
‘As a result even after our some six and half decades of Independence India was home to largest number of poor, sick and illiterate. The Prime Minister’s all inclusive development model is ensuring food, shelter, health, education, electricity, cooking gas etc which are basic ingredients of a healthy citizenship to reach every citizen of India in all parts of the country without discrimination’, the Governor said.
The Governor conferred graduation certificates to 204 young graduates and 101 awards to exemplary students for their outstanding performance and lauded the students, faculty members and parents.
He exhorted the young graduates to come forward and to take responsibility with pride of serving the people and building a great India.
Stating that India was marching ahead with confidence to its glorious future, the Governor urged the young graduates to go for entrepreneurship and innovation, seize the opportunities and build India the world leader in the next 25 years.
University Pro-Chancellor and Fisheries Minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan announced that 12 Medals and Endowments will be conferred annually for meritorious Under Graduates, Post Graduates and Ph.D Students of the University to the tune of Rs. thirty two lakhs from the next academic year.
The awards will be distributed during the annual convocation function.
