Chennai: A day after reporting increase in new Covid-19 cases, Tamilnadu on Thursday reported 26 infections and pushed the caseload to 34,53,011 till date. There were no fatalities, so the toll remained unchanged with 38,025, the Health Department said.

There were 12 cases in Chennai, followed by six in Chengalpattu and two each in Salem and Tiruvallur. Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Karur and Thanjavur had one case each.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases with 37 people getting discharged in the last 24 hours, aggregating to 34,14,739 leaving 247 active infections, a bulletin said.

A total of 247 persons were currently under treatment for Covid-19 in the State. The number of samples tested stood at 21,635.
