Chennai: Tamilnadu reported 52 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, said the bulletin by the State Health Department on Sunday.
With this, the active cases in the last 24 hours stand at 334 which stood at 310 on Saturday.
As many as 28 patients recovered from the infection during this period. The total number of recoveries in the State since the onset of the pandemic rose to 34,15,193. No Covid patient lost life in the 24 hours.
Of the 52 new infections, 33 were men and 19 women. After registering a spike for several days, fresh cases in Chennai fell to 34 and 14 more were discharged post treatment. As on date, 200 persons are under treatment here. Chennai was followed by Chengalpet with five, while Pudukottai and Tiruvallur recorded two each.
Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Madurai, Salem, Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli recorded one case each.
