Corona lockdown to be imposed in TN again?

Chennai: Amid marginal rise in Covid positive cases, there is no chance of re-imposing lockdown again in Tamilnadu, Health Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan has said.

However, sources say more restrictions are likely to be imposed in the coming days if the same trend continues.
Talking to reporters here, Radhakrishnan also appealed to the people not to give any credence to rumours on the possibility of reimposing lockdown in the State.

To a question on whether the lockdown will be imposed again in the State, he said there was no chance for re-imposing it.

‘This is not the time to make unnecessary rumours about it’, he said, adding, the State had brought the virus spread greatly under control through various measures, including wearing of face masks and vaccinations.

‘It’s time to be reminded of that. The mask and the vaccine are the key to control the virus spread’, he said and appealed to the people not to lower the guard or remain complacent and follow the guidelines and protocols put in place by the government.
