Govt committed to ensure police serve people with human touch: CM

NT Bureau : Lauding the Tamilnadu Police force for giving their best and safe guarding the public as one of the frontline warriors during the Covid pandemic, Chief Minister M K Stalin has said his government will provide a conducive environment for the police force to serve the public with a human touch. Moving the demand for grants for Police and Fire Services department in the State Assembly, he said the goverment will also ensure that a human touch is given to the police force in their service delivery system.

This government is committed to provide a conducive environment for the Police Force to serve the public so as to achieve the noble objectives of the government’, he added. This government is confident that with planned and systematic efforts, the police force will achieve their objective of crime free society by way of prevention of commission of crime and maintaining a harmonious
society.

Stalin said the government is totally committed to ensure a harmonious environment for the all round development of the State. Noting that Social Justice  and Equality is the main motto of the government, he said the Police needs to be cordial with the public, therefore lot of training is being given to enhance the public-friendly behaviour of police personnel. The government has initiated effective measures to ensure that the police department considers the members of the public as friends and treat them
with due courtesy and respect, he said.

In order to inculcate friendly behaviour by the police towards the common public, a comprehensive training is designed in association with the Anna
Administrative Staff College (AASC), Chennai, Stalin said. The police force has been sensitised and motivated to accord utmost priority
for the maintenance of Law and Order and prevention of Crime, Investigation, especially relating to Crimes against Women and Children, Cyber Crimes, Economic Offences and other Organized crimes.

The Chief Minister said the State Police Department will continue in its endeavor to contribute towards providing effective governance which is essential for rapid industrial development, economic growth and over all prosperity of the State.
