Aalayam Kaappom, an organisation to protect and preserve temples, along with other Hindu outfits and community groups, is planning to hold an ‘attention-grabbing protest’ to protect Hindu places of worship on 14 May (6 pm) at Valluvar Kottam here.
The protest meet will highlight the alleged ‘improper governance of temples under HR&CE Department of Tamilnadu government’.
Those in the Aalayam Kaappom state that the meeting has been convened to highlight the alleged gross misuse of temple wealth, poor maintenance of places of worship, poor state of archakas and use of temple funds for non-temple purposes.
The organisation invites spiritualists to turn up in large numbers and raise their voice at the attention-grabbing protest, so that it would be heard by the officials concerned.
