After former Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja was released from the CSK squad owing to a rib injury the all-rounder sustained during the teamās IPL 2022 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, it is being reported that Jadeja was unhappy with the way CSK management handled the change in captaincy during the season.
Jadeja was appointed CSK skipper ahead of IPL 2022, but owing to the teamās poor showing and Jadejaās own lack of form, he was replaced by MS Dhoni after eight games. Even though CSK are still in contention to make the playoffs, it is highly unlikely that the four-time champions will make it to the top four.
The rumours of a rift between Jadeja and the team management were reportedly fuelled by the fact that CSKās Instagram handle unfollowed Jadeja.
According to reports Jadeja wasnāt too pleased with the way the captaincy change was handled.
However CSK sources saidĀ Jadeja reported a bruised rib and was unavailable for Chennai Super Kings’ game against Delhi Capitals on Sunday.
He was under observation and based on medical advice he has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL season.
CSK tweeted in its official handle, ‘Jadeja will be missing the rest of the IPL due to injury. Wishing our Jaadugar a speedy recovery’.
Jadeja, who captained CSK in the first eight games, had a forgettable season as all he could manage was just 116 runs at an average of 20 in 10 games and only five wickets at an economy rate of 7.51.
