Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru has won multiple awards at the Osaka Tamil International Film Festival. The film has won 6 awards at the Film Festival.
Soorai Pottru won the awards for Best Tamil Film, Best Music Director, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Art Director and Best Production House of the year.
Soorarai Pottru which was directed by Sudha Kongara is a biography of GR Gopinath who started the airline Air Deccan.
The Tamil film gained so much fame and it was critically acclaimed all over the world.
The film is now currently being remade in Hindi with Akshay Kumar as the lead. The Hindi remake is also directed by Sudha Kongara.
