The Supreme Court today enhanced the sentence of Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year imprisonment in a 1988 road rage accident case in which one person named Gurnam Singh had died.
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu jailed in nearly three decades old street violence case. The Supreme Court pronounced the sentence.
At that time, Sidhu was accused of beating up a man by parking a car on the road. The man later died of a head injury.
A case of involuntary murder was also registered against Sidhu at one point of time, however, which was later dismissed.
After so many years, the supreme court sentenced Sidhu to one year in the same case. The court ordered him to surrender.
