The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a fresh case of corruption against former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with a recruitment scam that took place during his tenure. CBI raided at least 17 places in Patna including the RJD leader’s residence on Friday. The raids concern a recruitment scam that took place during the RJD chief’s tenure. According to sources, the case registered against the RJD leader is related to ‘land for railway job scam.’
The CBI also raided the official residence of the leader of the Opposition in Bihar and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son, Tejasvi Yadav including other places in Patna, Delhi and Gopalganj. RJD leaders and workers staged a protest against the raids conducted by the CBI at multiple locations.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, along with his wife, Rabri Yadav and their daughters, Misa Yadav and Hema Yadav are named in the FIR filed by the CBI. Reacting to the CBI raids, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini alleged that the ‘raids are an excuse to scare the RJD leader on the issue of caste census.’
