CM announces DA hike

Chennai : Chief Minister M.K.Stalin announced the increase in Dearness Allowance for employees of ration shops in the State coming under the Cooperative department, from 14 to 28 per cent. An official release here last in line with the announcement made by the Chief Minister on the New Year day this year in deference to the wishes expressed by the employees of the PDS ration shops, the hike in DA was announced today. This will benefit a total of 22,510 employees, including 19,658 salesmen in the PDS across the state and the government will entail an additional annual expenditure of Rs 73 crore.
