‘Maamanithan will win all hearts’

Yuvan Shankar Raja is producing Maamanithan for his production house of YSR Films and it is directed by Seenu Ramasamy. The movie features Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in the lead roles. Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja together have composed music.
Maamanithan is a feel-good family drama, which is all set for the worldwide theatrical release on June 24, 2022. Studio 9 RK Suresh is releasing this movie.
Marking the release of this movie, actor Vijay Sethupathi, Actress Gayathrie, director Seenu Ramasamy and Distributor-Actor RK Suresh interacted with the press and media.
Distributor-actor RK Suresh says, ‘There are only a few filmmakers, who make filvs on realistic values, and Seenu Ramasamy is one among them. This movie will offer a fresh experience to the audiences without even the faintest traces of Dharmadurai. It will be a movie that audiences can relate to. Maamanithan is going to be a special movie for Gayathrie.
Actress Gayathrie said, ‘We all have a perception about villages, but the way, Seenu Ramasamy projects them is completely unique and fresh. This is a pure love story. I am delighted to have Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja together compose music for this movie.’
Actor Vijay Sethupathi said, ‘Maamanithan happened when Yuvan said that he along with his father Ilaiyaraaja would compose music together if I am playing the lead character in this movie. Seenu Ramasamy has made an emgrossing emotional fare in Maamanithan’
National Award winning director Seenu Ramasamy said that that actress Gayathrie, has delivered a stunning performance in his film and that there was a good chance that she would win a National Award for her performance. He disclosed that he narrated his script to several actresses but none of them were willing to play the mother of two children.
I narrated the script to many actresses, but most of them weren’t happy with the second half. They were okay with the romantic portions but in the second half, when they had to portray the role of a mother, most actresses backed out.
The director went on to say: Gayathrie, however, showed complete interest in this movie and wanted to be a part of it. I am confident that she will win a National award for her outstanding performance in this film.
