Film-buffs are heaping laurels on Allirajah Subaskaran of Lyca Productions for the teaser of Ponniyin Selvan also known as PS-I out recently.
An upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic historical fiction film is based on the novel Ponniyin Selvan by writer Kalki. Directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam, the movie’s first part would be out 30 September.
Subaskaran has made a name for himself as someone who produces movies with world-class standards. 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, is an example. Kaththi starring Vijay was a huge hit too. He is now bankrolling Ponniyin Selvan as a two-part feature film franchise.
Vikram, Jeyam Ravi, Karthi, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha play pivotal roles. The film has a screenplay by Jeyamohan, while the music is by AR Rahman. The cinematography is by S Ravi Varman. Thota Tharani is its art director. Akkineni Sreekar Prasad is its editor.
