CREDAI’s special act

Chennai : The Chennai chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) has in the past year resolved grievances of consumers who have been facing issues with builders.“CREDAI was and is meant to safeguard the interests of consumers. Another objective of CREDAI is to ensure the revival of the real estate industry and contribute towards the building of the Nation,” said S Sivagurunathan, president, CREDAI Chennai.A separate committee is functioning to look into grievances of home buyers.“Based on the available data, it is evident CREDAI has been successful in resolving issues of consumers and builders. We appeal to the public to approach us first as it is easier to have meetings with builders and developers and resolve issues. In case the consumer feels justice can be met at the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Authority (TNRERA), they are most welcome to reach out there,” he said.“The nature of the complaints we have been receiving so far from consumers are delays in handing over of the said property, cancellation refund, amenities issue and corpus fund. On an average, we have resolved these issues within a span of 45-to-90-day period depending on the criticality of the issue. A few of the issues were resolved in just one day!” he added.
