Doha : England continued their free-scoring form to march into the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Monday as they defeated Senegal 3-0 in their Round of 16 match at Al Bayt stadium. With the win, England set up a mouth-watering last eight clash with defending champions France, who beat Poland 3-1 on Sunday.Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scored for the English side against the African champions in another goalfest for them. Impressive England have now scored 12 goals in the tournament, equalling their best ever World Cup total achieved in the last edition in Russia.Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe scored twice as France beat Poland 3-1 in the third Round of 16 fixture at the 2022 World Cup. The 23-year-old became only the first player in World Cup history to score eight goals before turning 24. Olivier Giroud also registered in the record books after overtaking Thierry Henry as France men’s all time record goal scorer with his strike in the first half. Robert Lewandowski put one back in for Poland from the penalty spot but it was too late for the Group C runner ups to make a possible comeback in the game.
