Chennai, Dec 10: With an aim to educate school students on the usage of drugs and its consequences, Walkaroo Foundation, the CSR arm of Walkaroo Group, recently held an awareness workshop on Drug Abuse and Mental Health at GHSS Madukkarai.A press release said that this initiative was part of Munnetram 360°, a project aimed at holistic development of the Government students in all six areas of Drug Abuse, Teamwork, Communication Skills, Time Management, Tobacco Abuse, and Health and Hygiene.Senthil Kumar, clinical psychologist of the Kasturba Gandhi De-Addiction Center, led the session. He highlighted the detrimental physical and emotional consequences of drugs to raise awareness. Commenting on this initiative, V Noushad, managing director, Walkaroo International said, “With ample exposure amongst school students in today’s world, it is essential for us as a society to educate and explain the pitfalls of drug use. We believe that through our awareness program, the students would have gained information about the adverse mental and physical consequences of drugs. Walkaroo Foundation is looking forward to imparting this knowledge through various initiatives like this in the near future”.
