A sum of Rs 40, 299 cr has been allocated for school education department for the year 2023-2024.
Tabling the Budget in the State Assembly today, State Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan said, ‘To enhance knowledge power and ensure quality education to all, the State government has chosen to allot Rs 40, 299 cr.’
The state-of-the-art Kalaignar Library at Madurai will be inaugurated this year. It will have ove 3.5 lakh books on various topics.
A sum of Rs 1600 cr under Anbalagan Scheme will be allocated to build classrooms and labs.
